BIS Amendment Order for the Agro Textiles (Fencing nets (mono filament and tape yarn))

OVERVIEW

By the recent directive from the Ministry of Textiles, the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 has been promulgated and is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2024.

This order is specifically applicable to goods or articles, namely Fencing nets (mono filament and tape yarn). However, it is important to note that this order excludes items intended for export.

The specified goods, Fencing nets (mono filament and tape yarn) are mandated to adhere to the relevant Indian Standard IS 17358 (Part 2) : 2020 (Agro textiles — Fencing nets for agriculture and horticulture purposes — Specification Part 2 Fencing nets made from mono filament yarns and combination of tape and mono filament yarns).

Additionally, they must bear the Standard Mark obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following the guidelines outlined in Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for the mentioned goods, Fencing nets (mono filament and tape yarn).

Any individual found in violation of the stipulations outlined in this Order will be subject to punishment in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
