BIS QCO for the Flux Cored Solder Wire

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has enacted the Flux Cored Solder Wire (Quality Control) Order, 2023.

This order, effective six months from its publication in the Official Gazette, mandates that goods or articles of Flux Cored Solder Wire adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard 1921:2005 and bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau, following Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Exceptions to this order include goods manufactured domestically for export.

For micro-enterprises, the order takes effect twelve months from the date of publication, and for small enterprises, it takes effect nine months from the same date.

The Bureau is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for goods or articles falling under Flux Cored Solder Wire.

Violation of the provisions of this order is punishable under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.

Implementation Dates: Effective six months after its publication in the official gazette.
For small enterprises, per the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, it becomes effective after nine months, and for micro-enterprises, it applies after twelve months from the publication date.
