BIS QCO for the Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport and Distribution

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has enacted a Quality Control Order titled "Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport and Distribution (Quality Control) Order, 2023."

This order will take effect 180 days from its publication in the Official Gazette.

The order applies to goods or articles, specifically Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport and Distribution, as detailed in the attached Schedule. It does not apply to goods or articles intended for export.

Goods or articles falling under Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport and Distribution in the Schedule must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 17399:2020 (Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport and Distribution - Specifications) outlined in the Schedule. They must bear the Standard Mark, obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The certifying and enforcing authority for goods or articles falling under Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport and Distribution in the Schedule is the Bureau of Indian Standards.
