Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers Quality Control Amendment Order 2024 for the Maleic Anhydride (Quality Control) Order, 2020.
BIS Quality Control Amendment Order for the Maleic Anhydride
OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued a quality control Amendment Order, 2024, pertaining to the Maleic Anhydride (Quality Control) Order, 2020.
This amendment shall be effective from October 24, 2024.
The order applies to goods or articles related to Maleic Anhydride, excluding those intended for export.
It mandates that Maleic Anhydride products adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 5149:2020 and bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Maleic Anhydride products.
Any individual found violating the provisions of this order will be subject to punishment under the relevant Act.
