BIS QCO for the Polypropylene (PP) Materials for Moulding and Extrusion

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued the Polypropylene (PP) Materials for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Order, 2024.

This order will take effect 180 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. It applies to goods or articles made of Polypropylene (PP) materials for moulding and extrusion, excluding those intended for export.

Goods or articles made from Polypropylene (PP) materials for moulding and extrusion must meet the corresponding Indian Standard IS 10951:2020. They are required to display the Standard Mark obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following the guidelines of Scheme-l in Schedule-ll of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards will be responsible for certification and enforcement in relation to goods or articles made from Polypropylene (PP) materials for moulding and extrusion.

Violations of this order will result in penalties as specified in the relevant Act.
