BIS QCO for the Solar DC Cable(Electric Cable for Photovoltaic Systems for rated voltage 1500 V DC)

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has introduced a Quality Control Order known as the Solar DC Cable and Fire Survival Cable (Quality Control) Order, 2023.

This order will become effective six months from its publication in the Official Gazette.

Goods or articles falling under Solar DC Cable must comply with the relevant Indian Standard 17293: 2020 (Electric Cable for Photovoltaic Systems for rated voltage 1500 V DC) and carry the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, as outlined in Scheme-1 of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

This order does not apply to goods intended for domestic manufacturing for export.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Solar DC Cable.

Violation of this order's provisions can lead to penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
