BIS Quality Control Amendment Order for the Styrene (Vinyl Benzene)
OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued a quality control Amendment Order, 2024, concerning the Styrene (Vinyl Benzene) (Quality Control) Order, 2020.
This amendment will be effective from October 24, 2024.
The order is applicable to goods or articles related to Styrene (Vinyl Benzene), with an exception for those intended for export.
It mandates that Styrene (Vinyl Benzene) products adhere to Indian Standard IS 4105:2020 and bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Styrene (Vinyl Benzene) products.
Any violation of this order will result in punishment under the relevant Act.
