Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Palm Fatty Acids Amendment Order, 2024.
BIS (Quality Control) Amendment Order for the Palm Fatty Acids
OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has introduced the Palm Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024, amending the Palm Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Order, 2022.
This amendment will come into effect on October 24, 2024.
The order applies to goods or articles containing Palm Fatty Acids, excluding those intended for export.
To ensure compliance, Palm Fatty Acids products must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 12067:1987 and display the Standard Mark. This necessitates obtaining a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-I as specified in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The certifying and enforcing authority for products covered by this order, specifically Palm Fatty Acids, is the Bureau of Indian Standards.
Any individual found in violation of this order's provisions will be subject to penalties as per the relevant Act.
