BIS UPDATE ON STANDARD AMENDMENT FOR DOMESTIC GAS STOVES

Important update regarding Standard Amendments applicable to all existing Licence holders/New applicants/manufactures/importers/product sellers for the product “Domestic Gas Stoves for the use with Liquefied Petroleum Gases” valid for Indian market. The Bureau of Indian Standards has taken this step to ensure that the consumer receives a product that is both safe and cutting-edge in technology. As Bureau of Indian Standards standardize every product for safety purpose to protect the consumer.

Standard Amendment Notification, 2021 for goods/articles “Domestic Gas Stoves for use with Liquefied Petroleum Gases, through Gazette Notification dated 12th November, 2021.

The Government of India and Department of Consumer Affairs in India have come up with the latest regulation Standard Amendments for product “Domestic Gas Stoves for use with Liquefied Petroleum Gases”.
The Bureau of Indian Standards officially notifies that Amendments to Indian standards (the details of which are shown in the table below) have been made in accordance with Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. This is the fifth revision of Domestic Gas Stove standard and is amended as per the latest order, along with the implementation date and respective Indian standard.

As you all are aware, Standards play critical role in making a world better place to live in and make sure that consumers get reliable and efficient product. BIS has made new changes in the Standard which was established on 12th Nov. 2021, and till 31st July, 2022 BIS has given the time to existing licence holders/manufacturers of the following product for doing the required amendments which are mentioned in the Standard Handbook, you can purchase the copy of these Standards online from www.standardsbis.in

Implementation Dates: As per the notifications, Standard amendment is done of product “Domestic Gas Stove for use with Liquefied Petroleum Gases” on 1st November, 21. Till 31-July-22 standard without amendment will remain in force.
